These holsters come flat and ready to mold to many different types of tools. They will be stiff and require time to fit your tools.
Here are some tips to prepare your leather multitool holster for a better fit with your tools:
Molding Techniques:
Natural Molding: Over time, with regular use, the leather will naturally mold to the shape of your multitool. This can take weeks or months depending on the thickness of the leather. To speed up the process, you can:
Warm the leather: Use a hairdryer on low heat to warm the leather slightly. This will make it more pliable and easier to mold. Be careful not to overheat the leather as it can dry out and crack
Wet Molding (Experienced Users Only): This technique requires soaking the leather in water to make it very pliable for shaping. It's a more advanced method with a higher risk of damaging the leather if not done correctly. If you're new to leatherworking, it's best to stick to natural molding or consider professional help.
Soak the leather in a bowl for 3-5 mins. Wrap the tools you will be carrying in saran wrap or ziplock bags making sure they are airtight to keep from water damage and rust. Insert the tools and leave for a day r longer to dry. You can speed up this time by leaving the holster out in the sun.
